This innovative space is a game-changer with games and activities that are just for those 21+. “The goal with Play was to design a playground specifically for adults to enjoy,” Jennifer Worthington, COO of Play Social Inc., explained. “Adults can revisit their childhood memories on the slide, and with adult-size versions of games that they haven’t played since they were kids, and then visit one of our bars and have a drink. It’s the perfect blend of childhood whimsy with the benefits of being 21+.”
A Different Kind of Adult Playground in Vegas
“One of the driving inspirations behind Play Playground was the growing loneliness epidemic that resulted from the pandemic,” Worthington told us of the attraction’s origins. “There were many social settings that never returned, and there has been a need for new places that provide adults with face-to-face interactions in a fun and casual environment. We want people to put down their phones and high-five each other. We looked at how we used to make friends as children, and one of the strongest places to make friends in our youth was at the playground.”
Situated within the iconic pyramid of Luxor, the Play Playground is a sprawling complex that offers a unique blend of attractions. While many new attractions have cashed in on VR and technological advances, Play Playground brings adults back to their younger years with games and settings that are reminiscent of their childhood days. “We offer a wide array of interactive, larger-than-life games that range from schoolyard classics to boardgame essentials,” Worthington said of the space. “The attractions include a massive 18-foot slide that acts as a starter to the rest of the games, testing your agility on a balance beam with swinging poker chips, a life-size operating game and much more. There is even a giant, bullseye Velcro wall where players can suit up for a game of human darts.”
