Art Basel is the cornerstone of Miami’s cultural scene in December, drawing global attention with its prestigious exhibitions and high-profile satellite events. Beyond the leading fair, the artistic energy extends across the city into unique dining collaborations and luxury installations that blend creativity with culinary and design excellence.

Creative Culinary Fusions

The artistic hub of Wynwood is hosting exceptional events where fine dining and visual art converge.

  •  The acclaimed Wynwood pasta eatery, PASTA, is integrating culinary and visual arts during the week. The restaurant will feature a special, one-night dining partnership on Sunday, December 7, starting at 5:30 p.m., with chefs Johnny Delgado and Richard Ortega of TBD. They will create a unique à la carte menu that fuses Italian techniques with Peruvian and inventive flavors. Concurrently, from December 3 through the 7th, PASTA will exhibit large, rounded sculptures by Peruvian artist Marcelo Wong, including works like Cupid and Formula 1, which are intended to evoke feelings of simplicity and pure emotion. Reservations for this limited-capacity culinary event must be secured through Resy.
  • Rosemary’s Miami is enhancing its sophisticated atmosphere by collaborating with Florida-based visual artist Nico, celebrated for her butterfly designs and nature-themed murals. Nico has designed an exclusive, limited-edition menu cover inspired by the restaurant’s lush outdoor garden. To commemorate the event, the restaurant is serving the Basel Smash cocktail—a tequila-based drink available from December 1 through the 5th—with a portion of its proceeds benefiting a local arts charity. The restaurant is extending its hours throughout the week, offering dinner nightly and brunch on the weekend, inviting guests to enjoy its Italian specialties in a serene setting.

Luxury Art and Design Collaborations

Significant partnerships are commemorating the cultural week by blending high-end design, retail, and contemporary art.

MILA Miami and MILA Lounge on Lincoln Road are partnering with the innovative designer Philip Karto (Philippe Carteau) for an exclusive Art Basel feature. Karto, famous for reimagining luxury handbags into striking artistic pieces, will showcase his distinctive creations throughout the second and third floors of MILA Miami. He will also debut a unique collection designed exclusively for the venue. Enhancing the exhibition, MILA Lounge will host a dynamic lineup of DJs, including ANOTR, Dixon, and Valeron, providing an energetic soundtrack for the Art Basel celebration. Similarly, to mark its scheduled December reopening following a significant $100 million renovation, The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami, is collaborating with luxury travel brand TUMI for a special Art Basel event. Artist Louis-Nicolas Darbon will transform a curated selection of TUMI luggage and travel items into dynamic works of art that reflect the resort’s updated aesthetic. Following private previews, the public will have the opportunity to view this unique, art-focused collaboration at the TUMI store on Lincoln Road on Wednesday, December 3.
