Exploring the History SAHARA Las Vegas Through Photos

“To spotlight SAHARA’s 70 extraordinary years, the resort has curated a collection of historic photographs taken on the property from 1952 to the present, courtesy of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) Archive,” Paul Hobson, General Manager of SAHARA Las Vegas said of the impressive gallery. “The images feature dozens of legendary entertainers and other pivotal figures and events spanning SAHARA’s seven decades.”

Featuring images sourced from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority Archive, the exhibition showcases not only the evolution of the SAHARA resort but also the famed entertainers and celebrities who have graced its stage. Vintage photos of Marilyn Monroe, Dean Martin, Grace Kelly, Elvis Presley and The Beatles are just a few of the recognizable faces featured in the exhibition.

“One of my favorite photos is one on permanent display near our lobby and shows a very young, fit Clint Eastwood flexing next to a similarly posed drawing of a strongman. It’s an absolute classic,” Hobson told us.

Visitors to SAHARA Las Vegas will have a chance to relive memorable moments in entertainment history while getting a glimpse into the evolution of one of Las Vegas’s most iconic resorts. “Guests can see the gallery near the center of the casino floor wrapping around to the entrance of the Magic Mike Theater,” Hobson explained. “There are nearly 20 additional photos on permanent display throughout the hotel lobby area.”
