Redhead Burger: Bringing South Beach’s Boldest Smashburgers Nationwide
Finding a genuinely high-quality, memorable meal on the fly can feel like a challenge in fast-paced travel hubs. Redhead Burger was founded on South Beach to fill that exact gap, transforming standard fast food into a lively, flavor-driven dining experience. By pairing a custom proprietary beef blend with vibrant coastal energy, the brand has grown from a Florida favorite into a cross-country sensation.
From South Beach Origins to Neighborhood Staples
The initial idea for the concept grew out of a desire to redefine fast-casual dining in Miami Beach. “The inspiration came from trying to find a really good, quick food option for people in the South Beach area,” says Sammy Mounayyer — CEO & Founder, Redhead Burger. “I felt there was an opportunity to create something fast and convenient but still had the quality and experience of a real restaurant.”
That local environment played a crucial role in crafting the restaurant’s visual and cultural identity. Mounayyer notes that South Beach’s colorful, international crowd inspired him to build a brand that felt fun, vibrant, and distinctly energetic rather than just another traditional burger joint.
As the brand expanded from its flagship Ocean Drive location to Doral, it adapted smoothly to different customer bases while maintaining its core appeal. “Ocean Drive has a very strong tourist presence,” Mounayyer explains, while pointing out that Doral serves a loyal neighborhood crowd of local families and professionals. “The biggest difference is that Ocean Drive is very much part of the Miami experience, while Doral feels more like a neighborhood restaurant. But at both locations, people are looking for the same thing—fresh food, good quality, and a fun experience.”

The Craft Behind the Signature Smashburger
Standing out in a competitive market requires meticulous recipe development. Redhead Burger built its reputation on a proprietary beef blend that achieves a juicy interior with a signature crispy, caramelized crust on the flat top.
Accompanying the custom patties is the brand’s signature Redhead Sauce, a house recipe designed to complement the beef’s rich, savory notes. “For me, the goal has always been simple: use quality ingredients, keep the flavors balanced, and make something people crave and want to come back for,” Mounayyer emphasizes.
Scaling the Energy to the Las Vegas Strip
Taking the brand cross-country marked a significant milestone, leading to the opening of a major West Coast presence at the Grand Canal Shops at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. Mounayyer saw natural synergies between the two iconic destinations, noting that both Miami and Las Vegas cater to international visitors looking for unforgettable experiences.
Expanding to the Strip meant scaling up the original aesthetic. Signature design touches like the iconic, photo-worthy “burger couch” made the trip West, adapted alongside a bolder layout suited for Las Vegas high-energy crowds. “We want people to come in, enjoy their food, take pictures, have fun, and remember Redhead Burger after they leave,” Mounayyer shares.
That resort environment also highlighted distinct dining habits among visitors. Vacationing crowds in Las Vegas lean heavily into indulgent options like the Hangover Burger and loaded tater tots, even as classic burgers, fresh house-cut fries, and milkshakes remain top sellers across all stores.
Operational Excellence and Nationwide Vision
Maintaining rigorous kitchen standards across state lines presents operational challenges, particularly when handling high-volume outputs in major resort properties. Redhead Burger relies on rigorous staff training and preparation to keep its house-cut fries fresh and its custom beef blend consistent across all venues.
“When you’re growing, you can’t let the quality change,” Mounayyer stresses. “Whether someone eats Redhead Burger in Miami or Las Vegas, I want them to feel like they’re getting the same Redhead Burger.”
Looking ahead, the leadership team views its current success as the foundation for broader domestic and international growth. “Miami gave us our foundation, Las Vegas showed us that we can take the concept to another major tourism market, and now we’re focused on continuing that growth,” says Sammy Mounayyer — CEO & Founder, Redhead Burger. “The long-term vision is to build Redhead Burger into a brand that people recognize across the country and eventually internationally.”
