Journey the Canadian Rockies at FlyOver in Las Vegas

FlyOver in Las Vegas is a uniquely immersive experience that will take your breath away. Located in the Showcase Mall, FlyOver offers guests an incredible opportunity to explore various destinations like Iceland and the Wild West. The new Windborne: Call of the Canadian Rockies ride takes the adventure even further, providing an unforgettable and unparalleled flight over the rugged and majestic Rocky Mountains.

Soar Above the Canadian Rockies

“There is a special spirit that lives in the Canadian Rockies, and we really wanted to capture the power and beauty of the terrain through voice and visuals,” Dave Mossop, Co-Creative Director of Windborne: Call of the Canadian Rockies, told us. “We collaborated with the Indigenous Peoples of this territory, including the Blackfoot Nation, to craft the story. It was these stories that helped shape the journey. A start-to-finish film narration – a first for a FlyOver flight ride film – enables guests to gain a deeper understanding of the stunning mountain region.” Guests can experience stunning areas in a variety of climates. “In all of our experiences, we like to showcase many different seasons. Windborne: Call of the Canadian Rockies was filmed during fall, winter and spring,” Mossop said of the experience.

Guests will feel like they’re soaring through the sky as they embark on this thrilling adventure with wind, scents and misting water used to simulate a one-of-a-kind journey. The motion-based ride is designed to create a sense of weightlessness as if you were actually flying, while high-definition images displayed on the domed screen bring this breathtaking landscape to life. “The flight ride explores incredible scenery from the traditional territories of the Nakoda, Blackfoot, Tsuut’ina and K’tunaxa Nations, who have been stewards of these mountains since time immemorial,” Mossop explained. “Many iconic regions, including Banff and Jasper National Parks, are featured in the flight ride. All of the filming took place within Canada and was made in collaboration with the Indigenous Peoples of the area.”

FlyOver allows you to experience these soaring mountains from a completely new perspective that no other attraction in Las Vegas can provide. “The Pursuit FlyOver flight ride uses a unique and state-of-the-art moving platform with six degrees of motion, multi-sensory special effects and a 52-foot spherical screen, providing guests with an unparalleled flight across iconic locations and natural landscapes,” Mossop told us of the technology. “Special effects, including wind, mist and scents, help create the wonderful sensation of flying through the air like a bird.” Soar above glacial valleys, verdant forests and pristine lakes framed by snow-capped peaks, all from within a giant half-sphere dome theatre! It’s truly an exhilarating experience for anyone who wants to explore Canada’s majestic Rocky Mountains without leaving Las Vegas.
