Miami Art Week 2025 showcases a strong focus on immersive, sensory-driven experiences that blur the lines between the viewer, the artwork, and the environment. Venues across Miami Beach and Wynwood are transforming into multi-faceted playgrounds where technology, large-scale installations, and collective participation are central to the art.

Digital and Sensory Environments

The most compelling immersive experiences of the week use cutting-edge technology to create deeply engaging environments.

  • Chromasthesia at The Gates Hotel South Beach. The Gates Hotel is hosting Chromasthesia, a week-long sensory activation in partnership with NFTCLT, which turns the hotel into a dynamic environment. The event features the work of Toronto-based multimedia artist LOTUS(9), whose Chromasthesia cover art utilizes AI-integrated digital frames to display real-time updates of blockchain art. The extensive lineup includes artists like local muralist Marlon Pruz, Emmy winner Superama, and Colombian street artist YuZapata, among others. The festivities blend wellness, music, and style, with interactive sessions by artist ByHaze and a finale event featuring Kool King Coconut Water, founded by Robert “Kool” Bell.
  • MAD Arts and AI Critique MAD Arts is highlighting the intersection of technology and culture with three new exhibitions, including The Junk Machine by conceptual artist ClownVamp. This interactive robot installation serves as a playful critique of how AI, once a tool for exploration, is being commercialized for mass output and excess. The program also includes mixed-reality installations (Regenerative Symphony and QUANTUM LENS) by Studio Above&Below, which visually represent data on resource recycling and quantum science, along with Rose Tinted by Miami artist RUTAMFI, which explores fantasy and nostalgia.
  • Arlo Wynwood’s Living Canvas. Arlo Wynwood, the first hotel in its cultural district, acts as a dynamic exhibition space displaying over 250 works. The property features large exterior murals by artists such as Hoxxoh and MILAGROS Collective, whose works use vibrant colors and lines to reflect community history. Inside, the design incorporates technology, such as elevators adorned with 3D decals by “phygital” artist Brooke Einbender, which illustrate the merging of technology and artistic expression.
  • ART ACCESS Takeover The Arlo Wynwood is also hosting ART ACCESS, an all-day event that transforms the hotel into a cohesive experience of sound and creativity. The day shifts from a relaxed morning of Coffee & Beats to an energetic afternoon featuring global DJs during the Afro House Happy Hour & Sunset Sessions. A dedicated lounge, Higher Ground Nostalgia Lounge – “Back to the ’90s,” reinterprets retro culture through modern sculptural works, digital arcades, and miniature dreamscapes, inviting playful engagement.

Grand-Scale Public Installations

Miami Art Week features monumental works that engage the public directly by transforming major urban spaces and architecture.

  • Lincoln Road’s Monumental Works. The Lincoln Road open-air promenade serves as a year-round public art park, featuring 14 monumental installations for Art Week. Highlights include Philippe Katerine’s “Mr. Pink Takes Flight, a series of gigantic pink inflatable sculptures that embody his playful Mignonisme philosophy across rooftops and walkways. Other prominent works include Rubem Robierb’s Dream Machine and Empower Flower, interactive sculptures that promote themes of hope, and new large bronze pieces by Gillie and Marc that raise awareness of endangered species through engaging street art.
  • Design District’s Whimsical Centerpiece The Miami Design District is debuting “Gargantua’s Thumb by acclaimed artist Katie Stout, the recipient of the 2025 Annual Design Commission. Celebrating its tenth anniversary, the installation features a whimsical collection of sculptural furniture—including seating shaped like animals—and an immersive carousel in the neighborhood’s center. Hundreds of colorful flora complete the piece, and fauna-embedded orbs suspended throughout the trees, creating a fantastical environment.
