Interstellar Arc at AREA15 Turns Space Exploration Into a Walk-Through Adventure

Las Vegas is built on spectacle, but Interstellar Arc takes a slightly different approach. Inside AREA15, the experience does not rely on a stage or a seat. Instead, guests step directly into the story. What unfolds feels less like a ride and more like inhabiting a science fiction world that moves with you.

A Space Designed to Disappear

The room itself is massive, roughly the size of four basketball courts, yet it feels surprisingly restrained and unassuming. That understatement is intentional.

“The physical space is intentionally understated because the true sense of scale comes from how guests feel, not from the room itself,” says Jack Kenn, VP and General Manager of Interstellar Arc. “While Interstellar Arc is about the size of four basketball courts, the architecture is designed to fade away so that the moment you step inside, you feel transported into something far larger — the vastness of the universe and life aboard the Interstellar Arc. Subtle physical elements you can touch help ground the experience, allowing guests to feel comfortable from the start and genuinely amazed by how expansive the journey feels, even if they’ve never tried virtual reality before.”

Rather than overwhelming visitors with physical spectacle, the architecture steps back, allowing the virtual universe to take center stage. And, though you’ll never see it, an experience at Interstellar Arc likely includes being secluded in a room full of people waving their arms around blindly (yourself included).

Technology That Stays Out of the Way

The realism comes from systems working in sync, not from flashy hardware.

“The realism of Interstellar Arc comes from thoughtfully combining well-tested technologies with the latest advances, all working together so smoothly that guests never have to think about how it works,” Kenn explains. “High-quality visuals, responsive motion tracking, and spatial sound are carefully synchronized so the world reacts naturally as you move, look, and explore. Rather than pushing technology for its own sake, everything is designed to feel invisible and intuitive, allowing guests to stay fully present in the experience — comfortable, grounded, and focused on the sense of wonder rather than the equipment.”

Guests are not focused on controls or settings. They are focused on where they are and what is unfolding around them.

Built for All Kinds of Visitors

Since opening, Interstellar Arc has drawn families, first-time immersive visitors, and longtime tech fans alike. The appeal is not technical complexity. It is an emotional connection.

“Since opening, we’ve welcomed a remarkably broad audience – families, first-time immersive experience visitors, and longtime tech enthusiasts,” Kenn says. “What consistently resonates isn’t technical complexity, but emotional connection. Guests of all ages respond to the sense of exploration, curiosity, and wonder at the heart of the experience, each finding their own meaning within it. Because Interstellar Arc doesn’t require any prior virtual reality experience, it remains accessible and engaging for anyone who walks through the door.”

Curiosity is the only real requirement.

Designed to Evolve

Immersive technology changes quickly, and the team planned for that from the start.

Interstellar Arc was built with longevity in mind,” Kenn notes. “Its systems are designed to evolve, allowing creative and technical updates without rebuilding the experience from the ground up. As new tech emerges, it can be thoughtfully integrated to deepen the journey while preserving what makes it special. Any evolution will always be guided by storytelling first, ensuring innovation serves the guest experience rather than distracting from it.”

Future updates may enhance the experience, but the core narrative will remain the anchor.

Chasing Awe

At its heart, Interstellar Arc is about something deeply human.

“At its core, Interstellar Arc is designed to inspire awe and a drive to explore; the same impulse that has led humanity, over millennia, to find out what lies over the hill, across the oceans, and beyond our solar system,” Kenn says. “From the moment guests enter the venue, the experience unfolds as a seamless journey. From the spaceport’s futuristic scenography to the large-scale virtual reality voyage that carries audiences across 11 light-years of spacetime, everything is carefully designed to invite gradual discovery and deepen their immersion into this vast story-world.”

He adds, “The experience’s design allows audiences to move through the first-person narrative of Interstellar Arc at their own rhythm, and the superposition of real-world physical objects onto the virtual environment creates a strong sensory anchor. The narrative leaves room for personal interpretation, making the experience feel cinematic, interactive, and deeply human, and ensuring that the sense of awe and wonder lingers well beyond the final moments.”

The journey is structured, but it leaves space for personal meaning.

Immersion at Scale

Creating an intimate experience for hundreds of guests each hour requires more than strong visuals. It demands operational precision.

“Delivering deep immersion at scale depends on experienced teams as much as technology,” Kenn explains. “Interstellar Arc is operated by professionals with strong backgrounds in attractions and guest experience, ensuring thoughtful pacing, smooth flow, and attentive support so guests never feel rushed or crowded. Behind the scenes, rigorous testing and real-time monitoring keep everything running seamlessly, allowing each guest to enjoy a calm, personal, and genuinely memorable journey.”

The choreography behind the scenes keeps the story uninterrupted.

A Different Kind of Immersive Attraction

In a crowded field of projection shows and VR pods, Interstellar Arc sets itself apart through scale and shared exploration.

“In a fast-growing landscape of immersive attractions, Interstellar Arc stands apart by offering a shared, large-scale cinematic journey that traditional planetariums or conventional virtual experiences can’t replicate,” Kenn says. “Rather than observing from a fixed seat or remaining confined to a small space, guests freely explore a vast physical environment, larger than four basketball courts, while moving together through a fully realized virtual starship.”

He continues, “Designed to welcome hundreds of visitors per hour, Interstellar Arc emphasizes social connection, collective discovery, and emotional impact, allowing guests to communicate, take photos, and feel part of a living story. Set within the innovative ecosystem of AREA15, it delivers a rare combination of narrative depth, spectacle, and technological ambition, creating a sense of awe and wonder that positions it among the most memorable and forward-thinking attractions in Las Vegas.”

At its core, Interstellar Arc taps into a timeless instinct: the desire to explore what lies beyond the horizon.
