Discovering the Best-Kept Secrets of Virgin Hotels New York

Just a block away from the bustling streets of New York’s NoMad neighborhood lies a hotel that boasts sophistication and vibrancy. The newest addition to the Virgin Hotels collection in the United States promises nothing short of a memorable hospitality experience in one of the world’s most exciting cities.

“Virgin Hotels New York City was designed by MARKZEFF and Stantec and developed by the LAM group. The hotel’s aesthetic resonates with New York City’s dynamic energy, exuding playfulness and
luxury,” Candice Cancino, General Manager at Virgin Hotels New York City, told us. “Everyone can feel this energy throughout the hotel every single day. The design celebrates New York City, affording guests with endless views of the iconic skyline and landmarks such as the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, and Chrysler Building, among others. These stunning vistas are accessible from public spaces like Everdene and The Pool Club, as well as our event space on the 38th floor and the majority of guest rooms.”

With 460 lavish guest rooms, suites, and penthouses, the hotel is a true epitome of class and artistry. “An integral part of the design language is Virgin Hotels’ signature red, thoughtfully incorporated as pops of color throughout, and contributing to a cohesive and spirited ambiance,” Cancino said of the design. “Additionally, the spaces are adorned with carefully curated artwork, furniture, and fixtures that complement the mesmerizing views, creating captivating visual experiences from every angle. The artwork within the spaces in the hotel not only pays homage to the city of New York but also celebrates the Virgin brand and our visionary founder, Sir Richard Branson.”

Virgin Hotels properties provide a uniquely designed space within its rooms, giving guests more unique opportunities in the room. “The hotel’s chambers are multifunctional for a range of travelers,” Cancino explained. “All chambers encompass the Virgin Hotels’ signature layout: The Dressing Room, which includes a full vanity desk with a mirror, a closet for two, and an extra-large shower with a bench that allows guests to dress up or wind down with comfort. On the other hand, The Lounge is a dynamic space that combines practical amenities for work and relaxation. It boasts the brand’s patented ergonomic lounge bed, ensuring optimal comfort during both work and leisure time. Additionally, guests will find a red SMEG® mini-fridge stocked with a selection of affordable indulgences, a smart TV for entertainment, a yoga mat for fitness enthusiasts, and a cafe work table for those who need to stay productive during their stay. Not only does the layout set the rooms apart from that of other hotels in the city, but many chambers offer unparalleled views of the Empire State Building, with some even offering views of the Statue of Liberty, Chrysler Building, New Year’s Eve Ball Drop, and Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The floor-to-ceiling windows open the space, offering guests a home away from home while also making them truly feel the spirit of NYC.”

One of the cornerstones that makes Virgin Hotels forward-thinking is its technological integration. “Virgin Hotels New York City provides guests with the latest iteration of the Virgin Hotels mobile app, Lucy, to facilitate a seamless and “touch-free” experience,” Cancino told us. “Exclusive to Virgin’s “Know” members, this innovative app allows them to conveniently check into their room and utilize their mobile device as a key, granting access to a host of functionalities. Additionally, the app offers the convenience of accessing all control features within the chambers, such as lighting, temperature, the TV and more. This really ensures a personalized and enjoyable in-room experience, further enhancing their stay at our hotel.”

As if that’s not enough, you’ll be spoilt for choice with an array of entertainment-anchored spaces, such as the distinguished Everdene, where you can indulge in delectable dining and cocktail experiences while unwinding to nightly music and entertainment programming. “We have so many incredible amenities that set us apart, beginning with Everdene—our bold, playful and lively dining/bar space is a 4,000 square-foot urban oasis with various offerings, from food and beverage to nightlife and entertainment,” Cancino said of the property’s wide range of amenities. “We have Sunday Drag Brunches in partnership with House of Yes, weekly live music, and more, so there is no shortage of happenings here. In addition, our 38th-floor event space, also known as the ‘Sky Loft,’ offers one-of-a-kind panoramic views of New York City. The 3,000-square-foot space is a standout feature of Virgin Hotels New York City, and we even have our own observatory deck. Of course, the 4th-floor indoor/outdoor Pool Club is one of our favorite amenities for guests. The Pool Club offers a resort experience within the heart of Manhattan with unobstructed views of the Empire State Building. Virgin Hotels New York City amenities truly bring a one-of-a-kind escape within the city.”

Last but certainly not least, Virgin Hotels are known for their pet-friendly accommodations throughout the country. “Our exceptional pet-friendly policies go the extra mile in ensuring that guests traveling with their beloved furry companions experience Virgin Hotels as a true home away from home,” Cancino told us. “Not only do these features set us apart, but we have exciting partnerships in the works that will truly elevate the wellness and fitness experience afforded to guests.”
