Las Vegas’ Animazing Gallery: A Showcase of Pop Culture and Art
Las Vegas is filled with art galleries and exhibits of all kinds, but few feature a selection of art as approachable as Animazing Gallery. Located within The Venetian Resort’s Grand Canal Shoppes, the Animazing Gallery offers a unique journey through the world of art and pop culture. Adding to the gallery’s intrigue is the newest exhibition available for an extremely limited time—Starr Art, an exclusive exhibition featuring art by none other than the legendary Ringo Starr.
A Look Into the Starr Art Exhibition
With a music career that has spanned more than 60 years, Starr is one of the biggest household names in music history, but has also carved out a space in the art industry since the 1990s. His latest exhibition at Animazing Gallery is his first exhibit since 2022 and is on display through October 15, 2025. All art from the Starr Art exhibition is for sale, and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Lotus Foundation. Founded by Starr and his wife, the foundation supports various social welfare programs, including cancer, homelessness, and substance abuse.
“I’ve just finished my second country album and we’re on tour, and I paint when I get a break,” Starr told us at a private viewing of his exhibit. “So, so far I don’t really think, oh, I’ve got to do this. I’m doing what I’m doing. I didn’t really think about it too much. I just wanted to do it. So I got the canvas and paint, and it worked.”
Starr’s work in pop art has evolved over the years from his earlier computer art to his current style of spin art. “We started with a little motor, we got another motor, then we got a real motor,” Starr explained of the spin art process. “It’s like a Rolls-Royce motor now, spins it around because the actual canvases, you know, they’re getting bigger and bigger. So you need something stronger. I’m still having fun with this, you know, with the painting.”
Animazing Gallery and Starr Art
With two locations, Animazing Gallery has become a go-to destination for those seeking original pieces and signed works by music legends, providing a diverse and captivating experience that celebrates the intersection of art, animation, and rock and roll. “What really inspired the collection in general is really my own passion, what I collect. So the galleries really are an extension of myself,” Leone told us. “It’s really what I like, what I believe in, and what I’m passionate about. It’s not about what I can sell. It’s about really just sharing with the world things that I find to be very exciting and wonderful. And that’s why a lot of it has a certain theme to it, with happy imagery or childhood memories, whether it be the animation or the illustration, or now tying into Ringo’s work, which is just about peace, love and happiness. It all works together.”
With the bright colors and happy vibes, Animazing Gallery feels like the perfect home for Starr Art. “I did a show last year called Beyond the Stage, and what happened was I was rounding up artwork by famous musicians that were artists that a lot of people maybe didn’t even know were,” Owner Nicholas Leone said of the gallery’s collaboration with Starr Art. “I had an example of artwork by some of them, from Jim Morrison, really rare, to Stevie Nicks, etc., to people that do know, like Paul McCartney, people are aware that he was an artist and a painter. And so it was a really great retrospective, but the artwork was for sale. During that event, I was looking for artwork from Ringo Starr, and I happened to meet Neal (Glaser), who has been working with Ringo for 35 years as his art publisher. And then he had said, well, maybe we could do something down the road with Ringo, and now, less than a year later, we’re here.”
