One of the biggest parties of the year is back! Aid for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN) brings back its beloved Black & White Party for its 38th celebration. The event celebrates community in the most inclusive way possible and is a cornerstone of the city’s annual event calendar.
AFAN is one of Las Vegas’s favorite foundations. “Aid for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN) is the oldest and largest AIDS service organization in the state of Nevada,” AFAN Board Member Anthony DeFelice explained. “AFAN’s mission is to provide support and advocacy for local adults and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. The organization works to reduce HIV infections through prevention education to eliminate fear, prejudice, and the stigma associated with the disease. AFAN’s goal is to one day see Nevada free of HIV/AIDS.”
AFAN’s Black & White Party Celebrates Las Vegas Community
“Always expect the unexpected at the Black & White Party!” DeFelice told us. “Celebrating the 38th anniversary, this year’s party will be at KAOS Nightclub inside Palms Casino Resort. Guests will enjoy a fantastic entertainment lineup, a full selection of food and beverage samplings, and fun photo opps! With this year’s party falling so close to Halloween, guests can also anticipate more over-the-top and revealing black-and-white fashions. And remember…guests are encouraged to wear as much black and white as possible or as little as they can get away with.”
The annual event is scheduled to take place on September 14 this year, and the event is always one of the best events of the year (tickets can be purchased here). “AFAN has the most committed partners who volunteer time and resources year after year to make this event happen,” DeFelice told us. “From our Virgin Hotel partners to the entertainment community, local restaurants, and community organizations, the party grows every year because of the outpouring of support.”
In addition to the amazing community turnout, the Black & White Party is notorious for turning out some impressive looks. “The event is also known for its avant-garde fashions! The signature black and white dress code makes guests feel involved and a part of the party,” DeFelice said.
“Celebrating 40 years of service, AFAN is proud to have provided unwavering support and advocacy for those affected by HIV/AIDS in Southern Nevada. This milestone marks our continued commitment to the community,” said Antioco Carrillo, AFAN’s executive director. “The Black & White Party is more than just a fundraiser; it’s a celebration of our community’s resilience and generosity.”
