Description
The Liberty Bell, located at 526 Market St in Pennsylvania’s largest city, is one of the most iconic symbols of American freedom and independence. This historic artifact has a rich history dating back to the 18th century. Originally cast in London in 1752, it arrived in Philadelphia to be hung in the Pennsylvania State House (now known as Independence Hall). The bell gained prominence when it was rung to announce the readings of the Declaration of Independence on July 8, 1776. Over the years, the Liberty Bell has come to represent the ideals of liberty, justice, and equality for all Americans, and it continues to be a popular attraction and significant historical monument to this day.
