The VIP Experience With the Blue Men of Las Vegas
The Blue Man Group is acclaimed for its innovative ideas and use of technology in its shows, making every experience fresh and thrilling. From coast to coast, the group has been wowing audiences with its unique brand of artistry! Guests can enhance their experience with an all-inclusive VIP package that allows audience members a more immersive look at one of the world’s famous performing groups. I was invited to check out the show and experience the VIP package and share the experience here.
If you’re arriving early, there are a number of great places throughout Luxor Hotel & Casino for dinner options. Diablo’s Cantina is right across from the box office, downstairs the casino floor has TENDER Steakhouse and Public House, and around the corner, you’ll find the Shoppes at Mandalay Place with dining options like Hussong’s Cantina, Rí Rá Irish Pub, and a wide variety of cuisine at the attached Mandalay Bay.
Your night starts with a quick stop at the box office to pick up concession passes and VIP badges with commemorative lanyards. Next, stop at the concession stand to grab snacks for the show. Passes include any beverage, including premium options like the giant frozen cocktails (the blue one is a great photo opportunity) and snacks like popcorn and candy. Passholders can bypass the main entry line (which was quite long but moving pretty fast) and get an escort directly to their seats. There’s a designated section in one of the rows that’s especially for VIP pass holders (and don’t worry, you’re not in the splash zone).
Blue Man Group was one of the first shows I ever saw back in 2000. At that point, the group was in their first Las Vegas run in the lower level theater of Luxor Hotel & Casino. I caught the show again when the group was performing at Venetian Resort Las Vegas, and the show has been a personal favorite for years. The best parts of the show have remained, even as the show has continued to update with the times and technology—it’s also still a great show for families and children of almost all ages.
After the show, a member of the staff will come and get you from your seats to take you backstage. Here, you’ll get a quick tour of the history of the Blue Man Group and get to see the gallery of concept art and photos of the Blue Man Group throughout the years. You might even get a glimpse of the wardrobe room where everything is made.
After the brief tour, you’ll be escorted into a VIP room where one of the Blue Men will be coming out to meet you. A few fun facts: The Blue Men may or may not talk during your visit—it’s completely at their discretion. The paint they wear also never fully dries. You’ll want to avoid touching any of it! There are also metal pipes in their shirts that will jab them, so avoid touching those too! Don’t forget to ask for an “autograph” on your badge—the Blue Man will put some of the paint onto your badge, and a crew member will cover it with a clear sticker to keep it from smearing or staining.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience. The show was as fun as I remember from past visits, and the size of the theater ensures there are essentially all good seats in the whole house. Visiting with the Blue Men was also a one-of-a-kind experience that’s great for fans and families—especially if you’re looking for a truly unique Vegas memory. If you’re not in Las Vegas, never fear—VIP packages are available in Boston, Chicago, and New York as well (package items and prices vary slightly by location, but all packages/add-ons include a VIP badge, swag and a meet-and-greet after the show).
