Philadelphia offers a wide variety of festive activities and culinary experiences to celebrate the winter season. From immersive cinematic pop-ups to traditional waterfront cruises, the city provides residents and visitors with numerous ways to enjoy the holidays.

Festive Attractions and Seasonal Experiences

The American Swedish Historical Museum in FDR Park hosts the Ebba Sparre Sauna Collective, providing a Nordic wellness retreat on its terrace. Guests can reserve private sauna barrels for 45-minute sessions, which include admission to the museum. This seasonal attraction runs through late March, with special daily hours during the New Year week. For those who enjoy holiday cinema, the Holiday Rewind pop-up at the Live Casino and Hotel offers a nostalgic journey through classic films. The Library Bar at The Prime Rib features immersive decor inspired by iconic movies and provides numerous opportunities for seasonal photography through early January.

Magic and movies continue at Libertee Grounds with a weekly film series dedicated to the wizarding world. Every Tuesday night through January, fans can attend free screenings of the Harry Potter films in a festive environment. The events begin at 7 p.m. and include themed specialty drinks, such as butterbeer.

Holiday Dining and Waterfront Celebrations

City Cruises Philadelphia provides a unique way to celebrate Christmas Eve and Christmas Day aboard the Spirit of Philadelphia. These holiday excursions feature chef-prepared buffets, live entertainment, and guest appearances from Santa Claus on the December 24 sailings. Families can choose between brunch and dinner options while enjoying panoramic views of the city skyline and riverfront.

For a more intimate culinary experience, Wilder hosts a creative version of the Feast of the Seven Fishes on December 23. This special dinner takes place in a private dining room and features an inventive menu from Executive Chef Ryan LaFrance, along with unique seasonal cocktails. Additionally, First Watch has debuted its nationwide holiday menu available through early January. The seasonal selections include cinnamon chip pancakes, savory carne asada breakfast tacos, and indulgent donuts with chocolate-hazelnut spread, for a comforting winter meal.
