Magical Transformations: What’s Coming to Disney Parks Worldwide

Disney Parks around the world are preparing for a number of changes and upgrades that are sure to excite fans all across the globe. The announcements were headed by Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products, during last week’s D23 EXPO with a number of surprise guests, celebrity performances, and more to the excitement of audience members at the panel. With a substantial array of announcements, Disney is dedicated to providing guests with a deeper connection to their cherished stories and characters. The plans unveiled a number of projects in the works at parks around the world.

Upcoming Disney Parks Attractions and Lands Around the World

“Disney Experiences is embarking on an accelerated path of ambitious growth and innovation,” D’Amaro said while addressing audience members. “With so many great Disney stories to tell, we’re excited to bring an unprecedented number of new projects to life in the near future, whether it be in our theme parks, on our cruise ships or through our partnership with Epic Games in the digital space. 

Disney Cruise Line

Disney Cruise Line announced massive expansions that will allow the cruise line to expand from nine ships to 13. The roster of itineraries will also be increased with more destinations around the world. The cruise line also recently announced updates on Disney Destiny’s new venues like De Vil’s, a piano lounge inspired by Cruella de Vil, Cask and Cannon, a pub inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean, and a new storyline for the ship’s updated AquaMouse.

Asia

The Marvel universe is set to make even bigger waves across Disney parks worldwide, offering guests exhilarating experiences featuring their favorite superheroes. Shanghai Disney Resort will be debuting its first superhero ride, a Spider-Man roller coaster. Hong Kong Disneyland will also be getting in on the Spider-Man action with its own new attraction in Tomorrowland. Hong Kong Disneyland recently made the news with the opening of World of Frozen, a Frozen-themed land modeled after Arendelle.

Paris

While fans anxiously wait for the World of Frozen to open in Disneyland Resort Paris (slated for 2026), the newly announced Lion King-themed space was just announced at the D23 EXPO. The land will ibnclude a new water attraction that takes riders under Pride Rock and follows the storyline of the beloved animated classic. The land will also include meet & greets along with shopping and dining options.

Disneyland Resort

At the Disneyland Resort in California, the Avengers Campus located inside California Adventure Park is set to double in size as two new attractions (Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab) will be added to the superhero-themed land. Fans were also treated to a look at concept art for an Avatar-themed attraction coming soon to California Adventure Park.

“Today, we unveiled an extensive slate of new experiences that only Disney can deliver,D’Amaro told audience members. “Work is well underway on all of the new projects we announced, and fans will start to see them come to life in the near future.  Disneyland Park announced a new show featuring an animatronic Walt Disney at the Main Street Opera House.

Walt Disney World

The majority of the announcements were for Walt Disney World—the largest theme park resort in the Disney portfolio. Teased back in 2022, a Cars-themed land and a Villains-themed land were officially announced for the Magic Kingdom. The Cars space is set to be placed in a reimagined Frontierland and will include two attractions. Villains Land will have shopping, dining, and two new attractions themed around the villains of animated Disney films.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be reimagining some of its spaces to become Tropical Americas. The new land will include two attractions— one that takes riders into Encanto and one that follows a journey with Indiana Jones. A new carousel will also debut on the land that opens in 2027. In the meantime, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be constructing a new land that takes guests into the world of Monsters, Inc. The first Disney suspended coaster will debut in the new land.
