Matt & Valentina of Absinthe Share Their Las Vegas Favorites
Tell us about your performance in Absinthe!
We are currently performing our Roller Skating Act as one of the final acts in Absinthe at Caesars Palace. Our act consists of death-defying tricks, with Matt spinning Valentina around at high speeds on roller skates! To add to the excitement, we are barely one meter away from the audience, leaving no room for mistakes. One of our favorite parts about performing at Absinthe is that we get the most amazing audiences that pump us up every night.
Where are you from, and how long have you lived in Las Vegas?
We are both from England. Valentina is also half-Hungarian. We moved to Vegas in 2018 after being scouted by Ross Mollison in a show we were performing in Germany.
What do you enjoy most about living in Vegas?
Our favorite things about living in Vegas are: the fantastic restaurants and food on and off The Strip; all the shows and talent make for an amazing community of performers; and Las Vegas has incredible access to beautiful nature, which makes for a great and easy getaway.
If you’re going out for a night on the town on the Strip, where would you go? What about Off the Strip?
If we are heading out for a night on The Strip, we would probably start with some food/cocktails somewhere like Superfrico, or burgers and cocktails from No Pants and Pier 17 Yacht Club in the Green Fairy Garden’at Absinthe if we have just finished a show, then off to On The Record for some dancing and great music. For a night out off The Strip, we would probably head to the Arts District or Fremont for some nice food and lively drinks.
What are some of your favorite places to take family and friends when they visit?
We like to take family and friends to see as many shows as possible, experience Fremont Street, check out the Vegas sign, and for a little change of pace, we head to Red Rock Canyon.
What’s a great place for capturing the perfect Vegas vacation selfie?
We think the best spot would be the Vegas sign, but we reckon you could also get a great selfie on top of The Strat!
What’s your secret local tip?
We would say make sure you have a good mix between places on The Strip and Downtown and be sure to search out all the secret bars around Vegas; they are so much fun!
