For a truly dazzling and unique holiday experience in Las Vegas, the annual Glittering Lights at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway transforms the track into a spectacular, winding display of festive illumination. This beloved tradition, celebrating its 25th anniversary, offers visitors a unique forty-minute drive-through journey through millions of twinkling lights, themed exhibits, and seasonal displays. Perfect for families, couples, and locals alike, this event provides an immersive, warm, and highly memorable way to celebrate the Christmas season from the comfort of your own car.

Creating an Immersive Drive-Through Experience
Glittering Lights is one of the city’s most beloved holiday traditions, now celebrating its 25th anniversary with new and classic displays. John Bentham, Event Producer, explained that maintaining freshness requires a collaborative approach: “Design is a complete team effort from sales to marketing to our sign makers!” He noted that in addition to fan favorites like the Shark Reef “Under the Sea,” the course evolves to reflect local culture: “Since 2019, we’ve been expanding Sports Alley to celebrate our city’s ever-growing roster of hometown teams.” The event producer added that he is “super hyped about Tribute to Christmas Movies,” a passion project brought to life in Vegas. The drive-through-only format creates a unique, forty-minute journey, optimized through precise logistics. Mr. Bentham stated, “Our traffic team has their timing down to a science!” They work to keep vehicles “pacing smoothly—even on our busiest nights—to ensure everyone experiences the magic just right.” He emphasized the sensory mix: “While the lights aren’t directly synced to Ho-Ho Radio, the combination of the glowing displays and classic holiday music creates an unforgettable, fully immersive experience that captures the spirit of the season.”
Gifting and Community Focus
Glittering Lights offers a variety of ways to enjoy the spectacle, catering to different groups. Mr. Bentham recommended the Carload Ticket as the most popular option—perfect for families on a budget who want to join in the holiday fun. However, for those seeking enhanced holiday cheer, he advised the Santa Tram passes, which include meeting Santa, games, a mini train, and hot cocoa before riding an open-air tram. He also highlighted the new Date Night package for a “more grown-up evening,” complete with hot cocoa and a commemorative ornament. Integral to the event’s mission is its focus on community giving. Mr. Bentham stressed that “Giving is really at the heart of the holidays,” noting that the attraction has donated over $6 million to Speedway Children’s Charities. Beyond cash donations, the event supports local groups through various partnerships. He explained that local Scouting America troops help run concessions to “build skills in math, money management, and goal setting,” and the event also partners with Goodwill and hosts book drives. To enhance the experience, single-night events like the PJ 5K Run and Bicycle Night allow visitors to experience the lights uniquely, proving there is “always a new reason to come back.”
