Boston Public Garden
Boston Public Garden is America’s first public botanical garden. It is being called one of the most fantastic attractions in Boston as well. The Victorian design was observed throughout the park. Whether it’s the colorful plants, the monuments, the Lagoon, the fountains, or the famous bronze duck sculptures, they have been a delight to locals and visitors alike. Children especially enjoy sitting on the ducks and creating perfect photo moments. Of course, taking a Swan Boat ride after visiting with the ducks is definitely an option that a lot of families won’t want to miss.
Boston Common
Boston Common is the oldest city park in the United States. Founded in 1634, it has served many purposes over the years. It was used as a cow pasture, a camp by the British before the American Revolutionary War, for public hangings, war protests and riots. Granary Burying Ground has been here since 1660. It is now a public park for formal or informal gatherings for all to use. Concerts, softball games and ice skating on Frog Pond also take place in the Common.
Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park
Located in Boston’s North End, Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park has a spectacular harbor view. With a large playground inside the park, there are plenty of rooms for kids to engage in different activities. There is also a rose garden and a Greenway Carousel. As the park can get very crowded, it is recommended to arrive early in the day or later in the afternoon.
Norman B. Leventhal Park
Situated in the center of the financial district, surrounded by high-rise buildings, Norman B. Leventhal Park provides a necessary retreat with its walk-through sculptural fountain, different species of plants, flowers and trees. Whether you are just passing through, simply sitting down for a bite to eat or stopping for a breather, you’ll find the park and its surroundings most refreshing.
Franklin Park
Franklin Park is well-loved by both residents and visitors for its acres of woods, scenic views, trails and areas for recreation and sports. The popular attractions inside the park are Franklin Park Zoo, William Devine Golf Course, Scarboro Pond and many more. There are also picnic areas, stone bridges and old stone ruins.
