If you’re feeling guilty about playin’ hooky from school for your fall vacation, consider substituting their classroom with Orlando’s optimal educational experiences. Here are six places in Orlando full of learning opportunities that promise laughter while learning. (Shh, they won’t ever know!)

EPCOT, part of the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, offers more than just entertainment; it serves as a vibrant hub for educational experiences. The park is divided into two main sections: Future World, which showcases technological innovations and the wonders of the natural world, and the World Showcase, which offers a cultural exploration of 11 countries. Visitors can engage with interactive exhibits on topics ranging from space travel and ocean conservation to culinary traditions and historical achievements. Through immersive experiences, EPCOT inspires visitors of all ages to learn about environmental stewardship, cultural appreciation, and technological innovation in an engaging, hands-on environment.

Ripley’s Believe It or Not! invites visitors into a world where the bizarre and the extraordinary come to life. This “Odditorium” is a treasure trove of oddities, from shrunken heads and rare animal skeletons to unique cultural artifacts and interactive exhibits. Set in a building that appears to be falling into a Florida sinkhole, the attraction offers a self-guided tour through 16 galleries of the odd and unexpected. Perfect for those with a curiosity for the weirder side of life, Ripley’s provides an entertaining experience that challenges perceptions and showcases the unbelievable and the truth.

WonderWorks turns education upside down with hands-on, interactive experiences that promise to pique your pupil’s interest. Guests traverse the multi-level attraction to learn about the effects of Mother Nature, explore flight and outer space, and ponder art and all its quirkiness. Go against all odds by adding in a little math and music before throwing in P.E. on the black-lit ropes course and laser tag, and you’ve got yourself an equation for family fun.

Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition in Orlando offers a captivating glimpse into the past, transporting visitors back to 1912 to experience the luxury and tragedy of the Titanic’s maiden voyage. Through meticulously reconstructed room replicas and over 300 authentic artifacts recovered from the wreckage, guests can explore the ship’s grandeur and the personal stories of those aboard. Highlights include touching an actual iceberg, walking the recreated decks, and viewing personal belongings that bridge the gap between the past and present. This exhibition not only commemorates the lives lost but also celebrates the indomitable human spirit and the technological marvels of the early 20th century.

The kids may catch on when they see the name, but they won’t mind a day of hands-on, fun-packed experiences at the Orlando Science Center. Little Einsteins will love the Kids Town where they’ll go bananas … well, oranges over the mock-grove production area and water-works station. Pick up a few bones and see if you can spy the reptile residents as you stroll through Nature Works. Speaking of nature, your forces of nature will love “Our Planet, Our Universe,” and they’ll dig unearthing some old friends at DinoDigs. The Science Park exhibit promises an energizing experience for those who light up your life.
