This year marks the 40th anniversary of Ferraro’s Ristorante, a significant milestone that celebrates its journey from a small neighborhood spot to an internationally recognized fine dining institution. The Ferraro family attributes their longevity and success in the competitive Las Vegas market to a steadfast commitment to authentic Italian hospitality and culinary excellence spanning four decades.

The Evolution of a Premier Destination
Ferraro’s Ristorante began humbly in 1985 as a six-table pizzeria and deli, fueled by a passion for Southern Italian flavors. Owner Gino Ferraro reflects on the restaurant’s challenging but rewarding transformation.
From Deli to Dynasty
“When Rosalba and I opened Ferraro’s in 1985, we had just six tables and a mission to bring the flavors and hospitality of our Italian upbringing to Las Vegas,” states Gino Ferraro. He emphasizes the hands-on approach of the early days: “In those early days, everything was hands-on: we cooked, served, cleaned and greeted every guest ourselves. We stayed humble, worked hard and never cut corners. As the years went on, our guests became loyal customers, and word spread across Las Vegas.”
The critical shift came with expansion and elevated offerings. Gino Ferraro noted: “Our turning point came when we moved into a larger space and began developing a world-class culinary and wine program. From there, we attracted international recognition, but we never lost sight of what made Ferraro’s special: authentic Italian food and personal service.”

International Acclaim and Family Tradition
Ferraro’s Ristorante has achieved the coveted Tre Forchette (Three Forks) for cuisine and Tre Bottiglie (Three Bottles) for its wine program from the prestigious Italian guide, Gambero Rosso.
Validation of Authenticity
Gino Ferraro explains the profound significance of this international recognition to a family-run business: “Earning these awards from Gambero Rosso is the highest honor we could imagine. Only eight restaurants in the United States hold both awards, which places Ferraro’s among the finest Italian establishments in the world. These accolades recognize not just our food and wine but our lifelong commitment to authenticity. It validates four decades of dedication, sacrifice and passion.”
Honoring the Past, Embracing the Future
As Executive Chef, Mimmo Ferraro continues his father’s vision by skillfully blending heritage recipes with modern dining expectations.
“Ferraro’s has always been about honoring the past while embracing the future. Many of our signature dishes, like osso buco, are prepared exactly as my mother taught me, with patience and respect for each ingredient,” Gino Ferraro confirms. He acknowledges the next generation’s influence: “At the same time, Mimmo brings his own modern sensibility to the kitchen. He refines presentation, explores new techniques and curates seasonal menus that reflect how Italian cuisine continues to evolve. What makes me proud is that even with innovation, everything is still made from scratch with love and served with genuine hospitality. That’s the bridge between generations and what keeps Ferraro’s thriving 40 years later.”

The Future of Las Vegas Dining
In a city known for high-turnover dining trends, Ferraro’s Ristorante’s longevity is rooted in its commitment to genuine, old-world hospitality and community involvement.
Community and Connection
“Our philosophy has always been simple—when you treat guests like family, they become family,” Gino Ferraro states, highlighting the decades of milestones celebrated by loyal patrons. This sense of belonging is supported by their charitable work: “Equally important is giving back to the community that supported us. Each year we donate more than $30,000 to local schools and charities, and over the years we’ve contributed to organizations such as UNLV, Bishop Gorman High School, St. Jude’s, Shriners Hospitals for Children and more.”
Looking ahead, the restaurant is focused on continuing its role as a leader in fine Italian dining. Gino Ferraro shared his excitement for the future: “We’re planning to host more wine dinners and tasting experiences. This December, we’re collaborating with winemaker Giorgio Rivetti of La Spinetta for a white truffle dinner featuring some of Italy’s finest ingredients and wines. It’s going to be the perfect way to close out this milestone year. Looking ahead, our goal is to ensure Ferraro’s remains the pinnacle of authentic Italian hospitality in Las Vegas for generations to come.”
