Upscale Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Experiences

Boston’s dining scene is offering a range of sophisticated options for celebrating Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, with menus emphasizing Northern Italian cuisine, fine seafood, and premium cuts.

Italian and Steakhouse Celebrations

Contessa Boston, the rooftop Northern Italian restaurant at The Newbury Boston, is offering a luxurious, family-style Christmas Day dining experience priced at $195 per person, with reservations available from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. The multi-course meal includes antipasti like Burrata with Caviar, and entree selections such as Spicy Lobster Rigatoni or Prime Rib. Also featuring Northern Italian inspiration, Matria Boston at the InterContinental Boston is open for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., presenting exclusive holiday specials alongside its regular menu, including premium dishes like Cinnamon Clove Rubbed Lamb Rack ($62) and a grand Seafood Tower ($120).

Seafood and Steak Delights

Smith & Wollensky is presenting an exceptionally luxurious experience on Christmas Day with its exclusive Wine & Wagyu Experience, available from 11:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. This elevated pairing dinner offers guests the rare opportunity to savor premium American or Japanese Wagyu beef matched with iconic California wines. For seafood enthusiasts, Legal Sea Foods is an accessible choice, with most local locations open on Christmas Day from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., serving their famous seafood and classic entrees, while the Harborside location offers a special ticketed feast with waterfront views.

Abe & Louie’s also has a wide selection of festive holiday specials exclusively available on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Atlantic Seafood Co. will also have a number of holiday specials for 12/24-25. Coach Grill in Wayland will be open on Christmas Eve and offers a handful of exclusive menu items. Joe’s on Newbury and Joe’s Waterfront will also be sharing in the festivities.

Casual and Affordable Holiday Options

Beyond the fine dining establishments, several casual chains are making the holidays more accessible with family-friendly pricing and themed menu items.

Budget-Friendly and Themed Fare

Bertucci’s restaurants are open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, offering new festive specials that include the visually appealing Holiday Wreath Pizza and Snowcapped Meatballs, making for a casual holiday meal. Sal’s Pizza is committed to community support with its Holiday Season Pricing Initiative, running through December 31st, which makes quality meals more affordable by reducing the price of every small pizza to just $5 and offering two large cheese pizzas for only $15, recognizing the financial strain of the season.

Seasonal Menu Additions

Margaritas Mexican Restaurants across the Northeast are welcoming the winter season with a range of new, limited-time offerings that include comforting, seasonal items like barbacoa, and a special festive cocktail called the “Booze Ball,” which is served with a keepsake ornament. Additionally, Committee, the popular Greek and Mediterranean restaurant in Seaport, is preparing for the cold weather with a new array of seasonal dishes designed by its Executive Chef, highlighting Mediterranean flavors with plates such as Lamb Merguez and Gnocchi Moussaka.
