Behind the Scenes: Life as a Female Emcee at Magic Mike Live in Las Vegas

If you’re looking for an electrifying night out in Las Vegas, Magic Mike Live is the ultimate show that has been taking the city by storm. But here’s the interesting twist: unlike traditional male revues, this show has a female emcee who leads the audience through a sensual journey that celebrates female empowerment. Magic Mike Live is not just a visual feast for the eyes but a show that allows women to feel comfortable in their own skin and embrace their sexuality. With its sexual positivity and boundary-pushing performances, Magic Mike Live is more than just a show- it’s a safe space for women to explore and indulge in their fantasies. Let’s take a closer look at what makes this show so unique and captivating. We talked with Jaclyn Marfuggi Caprio, the female emcee at Magic Mike Live in Las Vegas, about the show, the cast, and what audience members can expect from the hottest show in Las Vegas.

Can you tell us about your performing background?

Marfuggi Caprio: I grew up performing in theatre and on dance competition teams in New Jersey. After graduating w/ a BFA in Drama from URI, I began studying acting at Michael Imperioli’s Theatre Studio Dante and performing off-Broadway in NYC while performing in Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding. I moved to LA to work in film and TV (Bravo, FOX, Amazon, TruTv, Game Show Network). I then began touring, doing stand-up comedy, and even performing overseas in Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Spain, and Portugal for our troops. I was a host of the popular What’s Your Jersey? The podcast and just before booking MAGIC MIKE LIVE was an entertainment news host and writer for Samsung’s HOLLYWIRE Network. You can also listen to me weekly as co-host of “The Yo Show with Michael Yo” Podcast!

What was it like joining the cast?

Marfuggi Caprio: It felt so great to be back in a live theatre production environment after working in stand-up and entertainment news hosting. I was nervous coming into such a close-knit OG cast, who, for the most part, had been performing together since the opening of MAGIC MIKE LIVE at Hard Rock in 2017. To my delight, I was welcomed with open arms and found the more authentically I worked to embrace how to make the Female Emcee role my own, the more I connected with the cast. The coolest part about the MML family is that everyone is completely unique, and individuality is what sets you up to shine and is what’s most celebrated. I have such respect for how hard everyone works and for the foundation that’s been laid for us by the OG cast and crew. I also feel a special connection with the newer cast members and appreciate how lucky we are to be here. My favorite thing is connecting through comedy, music, dance and FOOD – also a love for being from the east coast (Go Yankees & NY Giants!)

Did you have any misconceptions about the show before you became a part of it?

Marfuggi Caprio: I had absolutely no idea there were any female roles in the show and that MAGIC MIKE LIVE was all about empowerment and feeling like you are enough. I also didn’t realize the show was so funny and that the dancing was this next level. I grew up idolizing so many of the choreographers and dancers that have either worked on MML or with our creators/cast and never knew they were associated with this production. It’s truly mind-blowing and a dream come true. I always tell people it will be the most fun night of your life… I had no clue MML was like going to a Broadway show if it took place inside the most fun nightclub with dancers, comedians, singers, aerialists, musicians, Channing Tatum…and a Unicorn!

What is the craziest thing you’ve seen since joining Magic Mike Live?

Marfuggi Caprio: The number of incredible women celebrating birthdays in their 70s, 80s and even 90s – living their best forever-young lives when we bring them on stage! We also recently had a marriage proposal that happened mid-show on stage, which was so sweet and a first for the company!

*Honorable Mention: Physically bumping into Tori Spelling and Lance Bass backstage mid-show was a crazy childhood dream come true, and actually having them fan girls and be just so kind to me is a memory I’ll never forget #DonnaMartinGraduates

What are some things about the show and the cast that you wish more people knew?

Marfuggi Caprio: How funny, goofy, and silly the guys are in real life. Truly the best part about being backstage is all of us roasting and making fun of each other. Also, how multi-talented everyone is, it’s mind-blowing how many different skill sets exist in the MAGIC MIKE LIVE family. I have so much love and admiration for everyone we work with. I’m so grateful for the brotherly love I feel from the guys and the sorority-like bond we have in the girls’ dressing room.
