Grand Scale and Festive Feasting
The Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens has unveiled its spectacular holiday display, All Aboard for Holiday Bells and Whistles, transforming the space into a sparkling winter wonderland centered on a detailed train motif. The creative vision for the display was rooted in emotion and nostalgia. Ed Libby, the Designer for the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens, explained that “The idea of traveling home for the holidays is a feeling more than a destination to me.” He stated that to bring that emotion to life, they magnified “those tiny moments of nostalgia into whimsical, larger-than-life expressions.” Mr. Libby added that “The train became an open invitation for guests to feel anticipation and pure holiday magic. Every detail, from the nutcrackers to the ornaments, was designed to make guests feel as though they’ve stepped into a holiday dream.”
This grand scale requires immense logistical effort from the horticulture team. Lea Jonic, Conservatory Project Manager, explained that working with live plants “is always a challenge since nature doesn’t always do what you want it to do.” She noted that the most significant challenge is managing the freshly cut trees, stating, “Harvesting, lighting and transporting the 41 trees, including our stunning 42-foot centerpiece, is a huge undertaking.” Once on-site, dozens of skilled team members are required to position and install them expertly.
This holiday season marks the debut of “The Garden Table,” an intimate dining option situated directly within the immersive display at the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens. According to Ms. Jonic, the motivation for adding this experience stemmed from high demand: “The holiday season is the most popular time of year with the most visitation, and the demand for The Garden Table continued to grow.” She noted that dining at the table “allows guests to be fully immersed within the display,” where the holiday theme “is told using all five senses in an intimate setting.”

Immersive Design and Storytelling
The entire display is designed as a cohesive, multisensory journey for visitors. Ms. Jonic detailed the collaborative process, stating that the planning “begins with the story developed by our designer, Ed Libby.” In line with the narrative, Bellagio’s support teams collaborate to bring the concept to life. The experience is enhanced by the popular treats from the Peppermint Express, created by the culinary team. Ms. Jonic highlighted that the express’s offerings “are tailored around the theme of the Conservatory and help to further immerse guests in the holiday spirit.” The entire seasonal display is a must-see for anyone seeking a sophisticated, high-quality holiday event in Las Vegas.
