On December 17, 1957, Nat “King” Cole’s historic television show came to an end, marking a significant moment in entertainment history. Despite being a pioneering figure and a central force behind Capitol Records’ success, Cole faced rejection from sponsors due to racial prejudice, as Madison Avenue refused to back a show hosted by a Black artist.
