Federal Hall is a historical landmark located in the Financial District of New York City. It was originally built in 1700 as the City Hall of New York, and later served as the first capital of the United States from 1785 to 1790. The building was also witness to George Washington’s inauguration as the first President of the United States on April 30, 1789. Today, Federal Hall is a popular tourist attraction that houses a museum with exhibits highlighting its history.
